Barrel polishing
According to DIN 8589, machining is a cutting operation in which layers of material are mechanically separated as chips from the workpiece by the cutting edges of a tool to change the shape and/or surface of the workpiece. Despite increasing competition, especially from forming production processes, machining technology has been to maintain its important position in recent years by reason of the high production accuracy that can be achieved and its geometrically almost unlimited range of processing options.
