Honing
Honing is a metal-cutting production operation with bound grit for the improvement (or changing) of the shape, dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the workpiece with the tool in constant contact with the surface. The purpose is to improve the dimensional and shape accuracy and primarily to positively influence the tribological properties. The best-known applications are the working surfaces of pistons in internal combustion engines and hydraulic components.
