M Spot facing
Spot facing like drilling is a rough-drilling operation. Spot facing is used for producing profile or conical surface perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The tool (spot facer) with several cutting edges produces specially shaped part-surfaces. Unlike drilling, however, it is not used with solid material but for holes which have already been made (spot facing; countersinking; profile facing).
